About the Role | Kōrero mō te tūranga
In this role, you will support the Area Supervisor in the implementation of Work Programmes in the South Canterbury area.
You’ll be part of the team that is responsible for the construction and maintenance of flood protection works, land drainage, fluvial gravel management, and flood response across the Canterbury region.
You will be managing contractors, liaising with a range of partners and stakeholders, and the operational management of associated plant, store and supplies.
About You │ Mōu
You may already be working in a similar role or have strong transferable skills related to working in river and drainage works.
As our contracts contain multiple site locations across the various rivers within South Canterbury, you will have the ability to connect with our contractors to track the progress of works in person, and onsite, which will be key to maintaining our relationships and ensuring the quality of the delivered works.
You will have a relevant qualification associated with contract or project management, and a full drivers licence.
Mātau ā-Wheako | Experience
To ensure your success, you will need:
- Contract and contractor management experience
- Demonstrated experience in managing projects
- Proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships
- An environmental and health and safety perspective in all aspects of work
- A work knowledge of earthmoving, forestry and/or farm machinery
- A good level of fitness
