As a regional council, we are responsible for managing natural resources including air, soil, water and land. We work in partnership with mana whenua Ngāi Tahu to protect the health of our environment to ensure a sustainable and prosperous future for our region.

Council plays an important role in responding to national legislation and policy changes – this mahi is part of our operating environment and is embedded in our everyday mahi. The current proposals from central government are significant, and Council is working through the opportunities and implications. However, our mahi must continue to deliver our three core services for our partners, communities and te taiao (environment).
Kōrero mō te Tūranga | About the Role
This role will help shape how people experience public transport in Canterbury. As our Customer Experience & Marketing Coordinator, you’ll support the Customer Experience and Marketing Manager to deliver engaging, customer focused initiatives that align with the Regional Public Transport Plan and encourage patronage growth across the region.
You’ll work across digital channels, community engagement, customer insights, and campaign delivery to keep Metro customers informed, inspired, and connected.
Key accountabilities:
- Coordinate high‑quality marketing programmes that support PT strategy and patronage growth
- Manage MetroInfo website content and support redesign projects
- Deliver digital and social media content aligned with PT objectives
- Support newsletters, campaigns, and customer communications
- Collate, investigate, and respond to customer feedback and complaints

Mātau ā-Wheako | Experience
Ideally, you’ll have a formal tertiary marketing qualification or relevant tertiary qualification along with:
- Up to 3 years’ experience delivering marketing programmes
- Strong digital marketing and social media skills
- Experience with Microsoft products and comfort learning new tools
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and agencies
- Interest in public transport or environmental kaupapa (an advantage)
