Kōrero mō te Tūranga | About the Role
The team provides expert communications advice and support for internal and corporate communications across the organisation, as well as our Governance and elected member support functions, media and stakeholder relationships.
This role will focus on our Corporate and Internal workstream, supporting our enabling functions and wider corporate programmes across the organisation. You'll distribute important information through our internal channels, lead and support corporate publications, and collaborate with teams across the organisation to prepare and share content internally and externally. We’re looking for someone who is resourceful, confident and with a can-do attitude, to deliver tailored communications and engagement to support the delivery of the organisation’s core services.
You’ll be involved in collaborating with internal clients to deliver the organisation’s internal communications strategy to help connect kaimahi to our strategic goals and aspirations. You will also contribute to key corporate publications and building essential internal and external relationships.

Mōu │ About You
You'll have a background in writing, marketing, communications or engagement, and will be able to proactively identify, research and write engaging content for diverse audiences across multiple channels.
In addition you’ll have:
- The ability to work in a team environment with a mixture of reactive and proactive responsibilities
- The ability to build relationships and work with staff across the organisation, and to influence their work with the community and stakeholders
- The ability to interpret and translate complex or technical information into everyday language
- A community focus, with the ability to see things from the community’s perspective
Mātau ā-Wheako | Experience
- Experience with behaviour change communications
- Familiarity with digital tools, IT systems, and emerging technologies (including AI)
- Experienced in internal communications and communicating change
- Knowledge or experience in an environmental and/or political role is useful, but not essential
- An understanding of te ao Māori and experience in iwi engagement, or a willingness to learn.
