Kōrero mō te Tūranga | About the Role
This senior technical role sits within the Pou Hononga team and provides high quality, timely and practical data and insight to support Tiriti partnership outcomes. The role focuses on how partnership-related data and information are collected, stored, governed, analysed, and used across the organisation.
You will work closely with Papatipu Rūnanga, digital and information teams, and colleagues across the organisation to strengthen data quality, knowledge management practices, and the use of evidence in decision making.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the development and use of partnership data, insight, and knowledge management approaches aligned to Tiriti partnership outcomes
- Strengthen how partnership related data and information are stored, governed, and accessed across digital systems
- Analyse and interpret data to inform organisational decision making, accountability, and performance
- Provide trusted technical advice to senior leaders and the Executive team on data, insight, and information management
- Support organisational capability to use data confidently and responsibly in Tiriti partnership contexts

You are a technically capable data and insights specialist who understands how data, information, and digital systems support good organisational decision making. You are comfortable working with complexity and can translate data into clear, useful insight for a range of audiences.
You do not need to be a cultural expert. You do need to be thoughtful, respectful, and willing to learn. You understand that data used in a Tiriti partnership context carries additional responsibility and requires care, clarity, and good judgement.

Mātau ā-Wheako | Experience
You will have experience working in complex organisational environments and be confident working with data, information, and digital systems to support decision making and accountability. You’ll have a track record of providing clear, reliable insight that helps organisations understand progress, risk, and performance along with:
- Experience working with data, analytics, or information management in complex organisational environments
- A track record of producing clear insight that supports accountability, performance, and risk management
- Experience working across organisational boundaries with digital, operational, and policy teams
- Practical understanding of data governance and information management in public sector or similar settings
- Willingness to build capability and confidence in te reo Māori me ōna tikanga as part of professional practice
