Kōrero mō te Tūranga | About the Role

The Senior Resource Management Officer sits within our South Canterbury team and consists of a mix of both office and field-based work. This role has a focus on proactively engaging with communities and customers, resource users, rūnanga, and stakeholders to support real change in the on-the-ground management of natural resources.  This role provides challenge and excitement.

This role has a key focus on developing and maintaining relationships, with the aim to enhance and increase service delivery.

The role:

  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers, partners and stakeholders
  • Ability to interpret legal information and be confident to apply this within a structured legal framework.
  • Apply a continuous improvement and solutions mindset
  • Collaborate and engage with other projects, teams and colleagues
  • Report writing
  • Provide input and support the development of colleagues and others

Mōu │ About You

You’ll have a relevant tertiary qualification and a minimum of five years of experience in a relevant compliance, legal administration or account management related field.

You’ll need a good understanding and confidence in working and interpreting legislation.

Being part of a regional team involves working closely and proactively with communities, resource users, rūnanga, and stakeholders as it impacts the use and management of natural resources.
