Kōrero mō te Tūranga | About the Role
The role of the Senior Resource Management Officer sits within our urban team based in Tuam Street and provides a mix of both office and field-based work. Your focus will be working proactively with communities, resource users, rūnanga, and stakeholders to support real change in the on-the-ground management of natural resources.

- Identify process improvement opportunities and resolve complex issues
- Uphold compliance with regulations and regional rules
- Deliver technical and customer service training to staff
- Write reports and produce feedback
- Establish and maintain regional and strategic networks

Mōu │ About You
You’ll have a relevant tertiary qualification and a minimum of five years of experience in a relevant resource management-related field. You’ll understand the principles of the Resource Management Act and have experience with consent holders.
Being part of Urban Canterbury team involves working proactively with communities, resource users, rūnanga, and stakeholders to support real change in on-the-ground management of natural resources.
Mātau ā-Wheako | Experience
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to encourage people
- Comfortable supporting and coaching other staff with professional development
- Work independently and proactively
- Motivated to work together with our community
- Support continuous improvement in environmental performance
- Experience in industrial and/or construction consent monitoring activities
- Must hold a full Class 1 drivers licence
