Kōrero mō te Tūranga | About the Role
As a Science Technician you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful environmental research, work outdoors, and be part of a passionate and supportive team.
More about the role:
- Assist with the installation and maintenance of environmental monitoring sites
- Ensure accurate data collection and management by following established scientific procedures
- Work closely with landowners and the public, coordinating site access and sharing insights from our monitoring efforts
- Help maintain and calibrate a range of scientific instruments and equipment

Apply your existing skills and knowledge to our groundwater monitoring programmes.
To enjoy this role, you’ll demonstrate:
- Knowledge of environmental monitoring techniques
- Experience with the operation of instruments or electronic equipment
- Practical electronics or construction skills
- The ability to identify, investigate and resolve issues
- The vision to develop and improve processes
- A positive, collaborative, and inclusive attitude
It is desirable for a Science Technician to have a relevant degree or technical trade certificate or similar.

Location - This position is predominantly based at 200 Tuam Street, Christchurch
Salary - The indictive salary range for role is $57,824 to $68,992 per annum depending on skills and experience. The specific salary will be discussed at interview stage.
