Kōrero mō te Tūranga | About the Role 

As the Senior Systems Engineer, you'll lead the evolution of Environment Canterbury's hybrid cloud platforms, ensuring seamless integration, performance optimisation, and cost efficiency. This role combines strategic direction and hands-on technical leadership to enhance private and public cloud infrastructures while maintaining security and system health. Key accountabilities include mentoring team members in best practices, improving end-user device and identity management strategies, and ensuring robust network infrastructure for optimal performance.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architects to define and implement future cloud strategies.
  • Lead automation initiatives using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
  • Manage identity, device, and network infrastructure across hybrid environments.
  • Enhance the security and resilience of systems through innovative solutions.
  • Engage with vendors and stakeholders to align cloud services with business needs.

You are a seasoned cloud and on-prem professional with a strong foundation in hybrid environments and security practices. A collaborative technical leader, you thrive on mentoring teams and aligning technical solutions with organisational goals. Your expertise in IaC, identity management, and network optimization sets you apart as a forward-thinking innovator.

 

Mātau ā-Wheako | Experience   

  • Proven experience in cloud infrastructure management and design.
  • Advanced knowledge of IaC, security protocols, and identity management.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on optimisation and resilience.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
