Kōrero mō te Tūranga | About the Role
Our People & Safety team is the heart of our organisation, driving meaningful strategies and fostering leadership to empower our leaders and kaimahi (staff) in delivering for Waitaha (Canterbury). If you're passionate about supporting people and making a real difference, this role is your chance to shine!
As a valued member of the team, our People and Capability Coordinators provide specialist support to the organisation and the People & Safety team by managing the day-to-day employee life cycle coordination and administrative tasks, as well as assisting with continuous improvement projects and other team initiatives that shape our culture and growth.
We are seeking two new team members to join our team with strengths in the following areas:
- A passion for all things technical, managing and optimising HRIS, and/or
- Enthusiasm for ensuring that our people and capability information remains relevant, accessible, and easy to navigate.

You’re a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a strong background in administration and customer-focused service delivery, who thrives within a collaborative team environment. Your natural ability to connect with people and remain calm under pressure makes you a steady and reliable presence, even when things get busy. Variety in your day excites you, and you have a sharp eye for accuracy coupled with a drive to streamline systems and processes.
Your experience may include:
- A qualification in Human Resources or related field, or an equivalent level of practical experience
- Previous administration expertise, including creating employment-related documentation across the employment lifecycle
- Working knowledge of HR related policies, procedures, and NZ employment legislation
- Proven ability to produce high-quality documentation with meticulous attention to detail
- Experience with digital environments, end-to-end automated processes, and people management systems
- Quick adaptability when learning new systems and an enthusiasm for collaborating within a team
