Kōrero mō te Tūranga | About the Role

As the Cyber Security Principal, you’re a key member of the Digital Architecture team, responsible for protecting Environment Canterbury’s digital technology assets through developing a comprehensive security programme. You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the security of our digital technology assets and driving a culture of cyber security awareness across the organisation.

This role is critical in ensuring the security of our digital infrastructure, supporting the needs of our organisation and community.

 

Mōu │ About You

You’ll have a formal tertiary qualification in Computer Science or Information Technology, cyber security or related field along with certifications such as: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM); Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), CompTIA Security+.

You’ll be a proactive and experienced individual who can lead our cyber security initiatives.

Mātau ā-Wheako | Experience

  • Proven experience in information security management.
  • Strong knowledge of security frameworks and best practices.
  • Effective communication and leadership abilities.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM)

Hours of work – Permanent Full time, 40 hours per week
Location - Based at Environment Canterbury Offices – 200 Tuam Street, Christchurch
Salary - The indictive salary range for role is $114,000 to $135,000 per annum based on skills and experience. The specific salary will be discussed at interview stage.
