Environment Canterbury provides an incredibly varied set of services to the people of Canterbury.  As a result, we have a complex network encompassing local and azure cloud, IoT (Internet of Things), Fortinet firewalls; Microsoft augmentation tools like Intune, autopilot and MDM, as part of a heavy focus within the Microsoft environment; and much more.

This role will play a key part in the continuation of our uplift of automation. It is responsible for utilising scripting and low-code tools to reduce the manual and repetitive tasks in our environment. We have focused on the use of Terraform, and this knowledge and skill will set you apart.

This role forms part of a wider infrastructure team, focusing on smooth operations, including engineering enhancements.  The team are skilled in their specialities, and ready to collaborate.  Our team share the load and relish their achievements.

About You │ Mōu  

You’re a digital-network native, comfortable within the Microsoft technology stack bringing skills in the following:

  • 6 years’ + experience working within digital infrastructure
  • A strategic mindset and be confident to share your vision, whilst engaging your team of engineers, sharing skills, understanding and responsibilities. You’ll bring proven ‘customer-centricity,’ managing expectations competently
  • Confidence to leverage the skills of your colleagues and provide input to initiatives, whilst remaining flexible and open to changing environments and evolving technologies
  • Capable of enhancing your infrastructure-as-code skills, utilising them with network objects and to automate operational tasks

Due to the nature of this role, some outside standard working hours may be required,  to meet the needs of the business.
